-----CUSTOMER INFORMATION-----
Name: steve tyler
Location: USA
-----PLASMA TV INFORMATION-----
Manufacturer: Maxent
Model: MX-42V1
PICTURE:
No matter what signal the tv was on the picture was terrible. I even used my Sony DVD with component video and still horrible picture. All signals are bad.
INSTALLATION:
The appearance was horrible, in fact I went to walmart and looked at their $1995 plasma and it was way better. I installed the tv on the wall and used only the best cables.
PLASMA FUNCTIONS:
The tv volume changes all by itself with the remote not even in sight. Has a lot of input selections, but every one of them suck.
TV QUALITY RATING: 1
BUYING EXPERIENCE:
The buying experience was great, the guy I bought it from was very nice and delivered the tv on time. Then I got the tv home and hooked it up and this tv had a horrible picture. I have seen a lot of plasma tv's, but never seen one with this crappy of a picture. I even went to walmart and looked at their 42" $1995 plasma and it blew this tv away. I immediately called the guy I bought it from and told him about it. He tried to help me troubleshoot the problem to the best of his knowledge and it still looked horrible. He then reported the problem to his rep. and then I didn't hear anything for quite some time. I called the seller back and he said they are looking to just replace the tv. I thought everything was going fine until I got the replacement tv request form.
It was charging me $200 for return shipping because at this point it was more than 30 days from purchase. I called the contact at Regent USA the manufacturer. His name was Rick. Rick was the most rude and unprofessional person I had ever talked to. I tried to explain to him that I reported the problem within 10 days from buying the tv and told him I could have the guy call him to confirm I had done so. Rick told me rules are rules and that he doesn't care what the seller tells him on the phone because it wasn't reported to him within 30 days. Rick continued to tell me I was "beating a dead horse, that he didn't care." I was outraged that I was being treated this way after spending $4500 on one of their products. It has been 4 and a half months now and I still have a bad tv and the manufacturer won't budge on the $200 charge. They also told me that in order to have another tv sent to me as a replacement that I will have to give them a credit card and they will charge me for another tv and then when they receive the bad one back it is to their approval they will then credit me back the money minus the $200 fee.
I have never been treated so badly in my life. If this guy Rick is the warranty rep for this company; I fear for the future of this company. I would caution any person thinking of buying from this company choose another manufacturer. Try walmarts tv $1995 and way better than Maxent. I hope this helps at least one person from getting ripped off from this terrible company.
