The Sharp AQUOS GD6U series LCD TVs bring a touch of elegance to HDTV. With a fully integrated HDTV tuner and state of the art CableCARD compatibility, the GD6U models are complete HDTV televisions on the cutting edge of home theater technology. You can "plug and play" these LCD sets with any HDTV-capable Cable TV system, with no need for a separate set top box, and no worries about compatibility issues. The outstanding Advanced Super View LCD panel, coupled with Sharp's "Quick Shoot" video circuit, deliver brilliant, high contrast images from TV, DVD, and HDTV with color purity and realism unmatched by any other LCD TV on the market.
For limitless connection options, the GD6U series includes a full range of HDTV-capable video inputs, including HDMI, DVI-I, and HD component video. A new PC Card slot even allows you to record and view JPEG still images and MPEG-4 video on a PC Card, and the fully integrated HDTV tuner allows you to receive 720p and 1080i HDTV signals without a separate DTV decoder.

Sharp LCD Display Technology
The new Advanced Super View/Black TFT LCD panel continues to lead the industry in picture quality, with high resolution (1366 x 768) for HDTV compatibility, brightness (450 cd/m2) and contrast ratio (800:1). The GD6U models also include a newly developed color filter which results in even more vivid, accurate colors than before.
Additionally, the GD6U series includes other Sharp proprietary technologies such as Quick Shoot (for response time of less than 16ms) and the 1-bit digital audio amplifier, for incredibly accurate sound reproduction. There is even a PCMCIA PC Card slot for playback and recording of video and still images!
High Brightness (450 cd/m2) Sharp LCD monitors are very bright. You can put them anywhere—even near windows, doors or other light sources -- and the picture will still be vivid.
High Contrast Ratio (800:1) provides incredible images whether you're watching dark or bright scenes.
Wide Viewing Angles (170º H / 170º V) Sharp's viewing angles are so wide, you can view the TV clearly from anywhere in the room!

Audio System Features
The audio quality on the GD6U models is up to the high video standards set by AQUOS. In addition to the 1-bit amp, the speakers are constructed of new materials: aluminum speaker boxes and the punched-metal grill for higher aperture ratio to ensure smoother sound flow.
