Sharp’s LC-37G4U LCD Television is a state-of-the-art 37" widescreen TV that can easily enhance the decor of any family room, living room or den. With a 16:9 aspect ratio, HDTV-ready 1366 x 768 resolution and breathtaking color purity, it is a next-generation TV to carry you into the high-definition future. The LC-37G4U utilizes Sharp’s proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT Panel, which provides levels of high brightness (450 cd/m2), an 800:1 contrast ratio, and wide viewing angles (170º x 170º). Additionally, the LC-37G4U is an HDTV Monitor, which means it is compatible with 720p signals from HDTV sources (HDTV decoder required).

These new state-of-the-art 37" 16:9 models are fully featured with industry-leading design and performance, as with all of the AQUOS line. The design sports some new elegant, contemporary touches such as punched-metal grilles on the detachable speakers and a thinner frame surrounding the TV. The cabinet color is a stunning silver which blends well with any room décor.
Wide XGA (1366 x 768) Resolution displays HDTV program images in 720p and is compatible with off-air (terrestrial), cable and satellite HDTV broadcasts (separate HDTV tuner/decoder required to display HDTV broadcasts).2
Sharp LCD Display Technology
The new Advanced Super View/Black TFT LCD panel continues to lead the industry in picture quality, with high resolution (1366 x 768) for HDTV compatibility, brightness (450 cd/m2) and contrast ratio (800:1). The G4U models also include a newly developed color filter which results in even more vivid, accurate colors than before.
Additionally, the G4U series includes other Sharp proprietary technologies such as Quick Shoot (for response time of less than 16ms) and the 1-bit digital audio amplifier, for incredibly accurate sound reproduction. There is even a PCMCIA PC Card slot for playback and recording of video and still images!
High Brightness (450 cd/m2) AQUOS™ Liquid Crystal Televisions are very bright. You can put them anywhere -- even near windows, doors or other light sources -- and the picture will still be vivid.
High Contrast Ratio (800:1) provides incredible images whether you're watching dark or bright scenes.
Wide Viewing Angles (170º H / 170º V) Sharp's viewing angles are so wide, you can view the TV clearly from anywhere in the room!

Audio System Features
The audio quality on the G4U models is up to the high video standards set by AQUOS. In addition to the 1-bit amp, the speakers are constructed of new materials: aluminum speaker boxes and the punched-metal grill for higher aperture ratio to ensure smoother sound flow.
