A shot of the C590 with a Blu Ray Test Disc in HD a clean clear image from Spiderman.
The Samsung C590 series plasma TV contains the same features as the C550 series except that it has a gray touch of color bezel framing and a headphone output jack. This is a fairly simple straightforward model without many extra features. It does have Anynet+, a LAN connection, and the Clear Voice audio feature. See the full review of the PN50C550 here.

From a standard definition DVD, Eastwood in A Fist Full of Dollars. Notice blacks are slightly hazy.
The Samsung PN58C590 costs around $1500 at many reputable online dealers. This is obviously a value play, omitting many of the newest features. It offers a good picture quality with HD content though a bit soft and grainy with standard definition programming. Competition comes from the Panasonic TC-P58S2 and the LG 60PK550.
Rating scale from 70 (denoting poorest quality) to 100 (signifying the very best quality). Picture quality is double-weighted in the Overall Rating Score calculation.
