CONSIDERATIONS:
I chose Plasma Depot because it got good reviews from others on this site and my initial call to them for information went well.
BUYING EXPERIENCE:
Lloyd was my sales rep and he was very knowledgeable. I was getting a TH42PWD-7UY which was a little short on inputs. He told me I could connect my DVD to the VGA output(I didn't know that) and that would open up the expansion slot for me to add playback for my video camera. I also bought Silverlink Cables, a wall mount, optional terminal board, and a tabletop mount.
My plasma arrived on time a week after I ordered. The tip and tell indicator was blue which is bad. the delivery guy told me this was common and not to worry. I had him open the box and sure enough the screen was fully cracked. Plasma Depot is very good about sending you specific instructions on how to handle the delivery. I cannot stress how important it is to follow them. I ! refused shipment and called Plasma Depot immediately. They were great about it and processed my new order right away. This was nice since I thought they were going to wait until they got my damaged unit back. A week later my new plasma arrived completely intact. I cannot hold Plasma Depot responsible for delivering a cracked TV and their response to the problem was great. Lloyd was very knowledgeable.

BUYING EXPERIENCE:
Buying experience was very pleasant! I ordered via telephone (although I have purchased many goods online, I felt more comfortable via telephone due to large amount purchase). Salesman was very professional and courteous. I received my invoice/confirmation/tracking info the following day after ordering the TV. TV arrived in several days as told. TV packaging was in good condition.

I was planning to buy the panasonic which was more expensive but after taling to the PlasmaDepot sales staff the NEC turned out to be the better option as I can use it in the UK if I return home in the future. All components arrived when promised in good order. I was nervous about spending so much money over the internet, however my confidence level has gone up and I am glad I made the purchase. I was not knowledgeable of all the differences in the various models and might have chosen a different model Pioneer if it would have made a significant difference in how it operates. I needed the tv for christmas. I ordered quite close to the date and was anxious to receive it on time. I was pleasantly surprised to receive the set the next day!!
Found a defect with the set two weeks later, to do with a line of static on the screen. A new set was delivered promptly, no questions asked.
