CONSIDERATIONS:
Reputation and expertise. I had heard that the sales team at DTV City was extremely knowledgeable, and their reputation was deserved.
BUYING EXPERIENCE:
Brett, the sales person, was quite patient while I decided, over several weeks, which model to choose--and, quite amazingly, hedid not push the most expensive model, instead taking the time to understand which features I was likely to need.

BUYING EXPERIENCE:
I had performed considerable research prior to buying. That being said, the phone rep was courtious and asked several times during the transaction if I had any questions. He also reminded me that the 800 number was always an option and the website provides excellent information as well. My order was complete in under 10 minutes and my plasma arrived within a week. All packaging was in immaculate order and there is a tip indicator on the box to let you know if you should refuse delivery on the spot. Of course setting up a Panasonic TH42PHD6UY and watching it with your jaw on the ground really feels good when you know you blew retail price out of the water!

BUYING EXPERIENCE:
First let me say that while skeptical about and internet and out of state order, I was pleasantly supprised. The delivery was on time and my TH42PHD6UY, s-video, bnc cables, and flat wall mount were all in perfect condition. Hooked up to my directv, bose home theater, and zeneth dvd/vcr recorder combo all produce a fantastic picture. I love it. I am concerned however, that since I spent 499.00 for the 5 year in house waranty and purchased with tv in april, I still haven't recieved the warranty. The DTV CITY experience is one I have recommended, and will contunue to recommend to anyone.

BUYING EXPERIENCE:
I was very pleased with the entire process from ordering to delivery. I was a bit nervous to be ordering such an expensive product from an online dealer. I did a lot of research and DTVCity was recommended as a very good company on several "how to buy a plasma tv" web sites. Most importantly they were an authorized Panasonic dealer. My research indicated that it was important to buy from an authorized dealer to insure that you really received a new and unused TV, and one that the factory warranty would be honored. I priced the plasma TV from many different sites, and the cheapest prices were only from dealers that were not factory authorized. DTVCity.com was the best price from any of the other authorized dealers. From my thinking it was worth the price difference to buy from an authorized dealer, as this was an expensive product. The DTVCity representative on the phone was very helpful in answering my many questions. He made me more comfortable in my decision to buy my tv from an online dealer and more specifically DTVCity.
Everything worked out just as promised with the delivery right on schedule. The instructions for delivery were most helpful and gave some comfort that we would know how to insure everything was OK with the TV. It's been over a month now and the TV is just great. I will be looking to buy my next plasma TV from DTVCity
PRODUCT FEEDBACK:
The Panasonic TH-42PX25U/P plasma TV is really great. We can't believe how sharp and vibrant the picture is. HD is unbelievable. We really like the incorporation of all the tv components in the one unit. There are some really neat PIP features as well. I am very pleased with our selection. This is a really great product. I found that it is well worth the price. A great value. The pricing makes it an even better deal than buying from a local dealer. Also I liked no sales tax. Again, great product for a really great price.

-----PLASMA TV INFORMATION-----
Manufacturer: RCA Scenium
Model: HDLP50W151
-----ONLINE VENDOR INFORMATION-----
Vendor: DTVCity
CONSIDERATIONS:
DTVCity just seemed the most credible of the vendors I was considering. They're recognized by the Better Business Bureau, have corporate clients, and buy direct. Worked for me.
TELEVISION MODEL:
I bought the RCA 50" Scenium. I'm not ashamed to admit that I watch a lot of television (public broadcasting, mostly), and that I like to have the TV on when I'm doing work or reading just so I can ignore it. Helps me concentrate. So I'd probably burn a plasma set out pretty quickly. I've never liked the look of LCDs, but I still wanted to really high-resolution picture.
I wasn't familiar with DLP until I did what the salesperson at DTVCity suggested--go to Best Buy and check one out, then get it from a REAL electronics vendore. So I did, and I must say that the RCA looks and acts amazingly! You really can't even see the pixels making up the picture. I really like the TV's coloration, too. Some of the nwer TV's can be a little too colorful (unnatural), but my RCA is right on in terms of color. It sounds good as is. So I don't have to try to get any extra equipment and cram it into my studio apt.
Overall, I am really pleased with my new RCA DLP TV. I know people love how thin plasmas are, but my DLP really isn't THAT bulky. I couldn't hang a plasma on my wall anyway (landlord would flip, and I'd be paying to patch plaster, etc.). So why not save a month'd worth of rent and still get a great picture? Plus, if I move...when I move, I won't have to worry too much about damaging a plasma screen, keeping it upright, blah, blah, blah. I can just move my Scenium like a regular TV. Simple.
To anyone who hasn't considered DLP before, I woiuld say this: Give it a look. I personally liked the Scenium line best. It's really durable. You can even replace the bulb yourself. (I haven't had to yet, but a salesguy walked me through the process. Nothing to it.)
BUYING EXPERIENCE:
Above all, it was easy. The sales guy who helped me really knew what he was talking about (no stories about "recharging" phosphors, etc.), and he was able to help me choose the set that was right for me. I was leaning toward plasma when I started out, but, it turns out, DLP technology was really the right one for me. No burn in, no burn out.

-----ONLINE VENDOR INFORMATION-----
Vendor: DTV City
Order Number: 101804
CONSIDERATIONS:
I had read some good reviews about DTV City on the internet, they had a great price for the TV and they had a local warehouse where I could pick it up and not have to worry about the time and risk of shipping. Also, DTV City had the best warranty at the best price.
BUYING EXPERIENCE:
The buying experience was excellent as I had called a few times to ask questions and do research. Brent was really good about spending time and giving me the information I needed. I could have gotten the TV at several other websites for less, but the factors I mentioned above in the selection criteria were more important to me. I had read reviews of other vendors in which their representatives tried to sell additional equipment, etc. Brent did not do that at all...it was just the TV and warranty. He aslo recommended a couple of people to install the TV. I chose to have one of the recommended people mount it on the wall and install, and that went well also. I have recommended DTV City to a couple of friends interested in Plasma andor LCD TV's. Great experience!
