  BUYING EXPERIENCE:
  I knew exactly what I wanted after a couple months of research and store visits. I called DTVCity and placed the order. They walked me through the process, answered some basic questions and were very helpful.
  
  The amount of the charge cause a security issue with my credit card provider which they followed up on quickly and helped me resolve.
  
  They shipped the same day and the product was ready for local delivery the next day! I called for some answers regarding the receiving process and the customer service desk was very helpful.
  
  The product was packaged very well and the shipping company was very professional, allowing me to do a complete inspection prior to signing for the TV.
  
  I've got the TV hooked up and it looks great!

  CONSIDERATIONS:
  DTV City seemed to have the best customer reviews in terms of service and responsiveness to problems, plus their prices are competitive with any of the on-line retailers. I also wanted an authorized Panasonic dealer (no "grey market" units), and DTV City checked out on that score.
  
  BUYING EXPERIENCE:
  The ordering process was very smooth and efficient. I placed the order through the web site for the panel, articulated wall mount, and an optional input module. I liked the way the DTV City web site clearly explained the initial 30-day warranty return process as well as shipping/receiving instructions. I was a little apprehensive about buying such a large and fragile item through the web, but the customer reviews convinced me that DTV City has the process figured out.
  
  The next business day after I placed my order I got a confirmation call from DTV City since American Express had noticed the very large charge and the fact that I had moved only 7 months ago. After verifying my previous address my order was set up for shipment that day. I was actually glad to see this extra level of security on my account.
  
  They estimated my shipping time (from Atlanta to the San Jose, CA area) at 5 business days. With the tracking information provided in the confirmation e-mail, I was able to track the shipment and find out when it arrived at the freight depot in the San Francisco Bay Area (where I live). Sure enough, on the 5th day, the shipping company called to arrange delivery. Since I live on a narrow mountain road, it took an extra day to arrange a small truck, but DTV City handled the authorization with the shipper and the unit was delivered with no problems. The driver waited the 15 minutes it took me to check the Tip-N-Tell and lift of the two box covers to check the panel itself. I was glad to see box had no major damage and the panel was in great shape.
  
  Overall, I was very impressed with DTV City. Every time I called to clarify something (such as how to inspect the panel on delivery) I got quick, professional service and clear answers. I wish all on-line retailers were as easy to deal with at DTV City.

  The unit was delivered on the day I requested. When I installed it I determined there was a fault with the display. I contacted DTV City who asked me to speak with their technical support dept to verify there was a problem that could not be corrected. After a brief discussion, they decided to replace the unit. I received the replacement unit in two days. The entire transaction was handled quickly and professionally. I was very concerned when I had a problem and very relieved to find that DTV City stood fully behind the product.

  I researched on the internet and local electronics stores (Best Buy, Compusa, Circuit City, Good Guys and some local outlets}. I was looking for the best price that I could be comfortable with on a purchase of over $5000.00. The internet prices were 25% or more lower. But, this is a lot on money to let some unknown company withdraw from your credit card. I read reviews on all the major internet sellers and stayed away from NYC sellers. I checked the BBB website and found their listed sellers. I checked Pioneers website for any cautions and finnaly ended up on DTVCity site where I found that they were a Pioneer authorized seller. That got them a phone call. I liked what they said on the phone.......but I need too think it over on the weekend.
  
  BUYING EXPERIENCE:
  I called DTVCity on monday morning comfortable with my decision to buy. I ordered the Pioneer PDP4340 at the quoted price and the salesman said "will there be anythine else" I said no. That concluded the transaction. If he had tryed to sell me anything else I would have cancelled the order. I am real touchy about being pressured into buying anything. So far this transaction has been great buy listen to this. The order was on Monday on Wednesday morning I got on the internet to check on the order when the phone rang, a local shipper wanted to know when they could deliver my Pioneer shipment. Whoooooow. For delivery I was prepared as the salesman at DTVCity had warned to thoughly inspect the package. Well it came on a pallet skid with all the accessory boxes surrounding the individully packageed plasma screen. It could not have been damaged it they tryed.

  BUYING EXPERIENCE:
  I found the salesman to be very friendly and willing to give an honest answer to the questions I had regarding plasma tv's. The ordering process was very straightforward and took a minimal amount of time. I felt that I was in good hands. The TV arrived at the time they said it would. However, after setting it up, the screen went out on us on the third day. I immediately called DTV-City about the problem and they assured me that a replacement television would be sent out to us. We did have to wait a day for the person in charge of authorizing replacement TV's to get back from vacation. However, he did authorize a replacement TV, which did arrive and has been functioning flawlessly since it was installed. Overall, our experience with DTV-City was very postive.

  Placed my order on a Wednesday and was told a shipment would arrive the next week. On Friday, I received a call that the shipment was in and my palsma tv was already shipped. Received tv on Tuesday - less than a week.
  
  Packaging was first rate and the carrier/delivery agent was very conerned about taking care in the unloaading of the box. They waited to make sure that everything was fine with the shipment and even gave me tips as to what to look for. Credit goes to the carrier but also to DTV City for utilizing a quality shipping company.
  
  What more could you ask for - Great price, Great service and piece of mind. You gotta love it!

  I wanted to purchase from a reliable vendor with a competitive price. I didn't want to have to worry whether the product would be delivered timely and without defects.
  
  BUYING EXPERIENCE:
  I purchased a Sony PFM-42V1 EDTV from DTVCity and am very pleased with the buying experience. I ordered the product via their web site on Saturday. They called when they opened on Monday to confirm my purchase, then sent shipping information on Tuesday. The gentleman who called was very polite and patiently took time to answer all my questions. I was at first concerned about buying from this vendor because I didn't see any vendor reviews on Shopping.com. However, with a little more research, I found that DTVCity is a member of the Better Business Bureau, and is an authorized dealer of all the products they sell. I also found their web site very informative and the e-commerce part is very well laid out. For example, they carried the component-to-VGA cable that I needed for the TV; this was delivered in the same box with no extra shipping charge. Also, they are one of the first vendors in this business, starting around 1997 according to their web site. Also, I am bummed that this TV is not HDCP compliant, so the DVI connection will not work with anything except a V Inc. Bravo DVD player. Cable or Satellite signal all has to pass through an analog component cable. But that's Hollywood's fault not DTVCity. I would definitely recommend this vendor.

  The buying experience was excellent. Prices were very competitive and sales personnel were knowledgeable and courteous. They helped me put together and complete video package to meet my needs including: monitor, stand, cables and a service contract. Although the monitor was temporarily out of stock when I placed my order, the complete shipment was made within 10 days and took only 7 days in transit to arrive safely in Hawaii. Just in time for Christmas! I was notified by e-mail at time of shipment and given a tracking number so that I was able to track the shipment in transit. I felt shipment of such an expensive, fragile item was handled very smoothly.

  I bought the TV online from DTVCity and am very favorably impressed despite the problem with my initial shipment. That shipment arrived damaged. DTV ships quite carefully and the crating was completely intact but, as I later discovered, the "blue beads" to be checked on the Tip-and-Tell indicator in fact refer to the indicator's background. I was looking for beads,or even fluid, and did not realize that an all-blue indicator was a sign of trouble. I see that DTV's current mailings to customers go to some pains to describe exactly what to look for--a welcome improvement. In any event, DTV was thoroughly professional when I contacted them to alert them to the damaged unit. A replacement was sent straightaway--which arrived in fine shape--and DTV's representative remains in touch with me to ensure proper and orderly return of the damaged unit.
  
  I think the most essential ingredient in buying such a large-ticket item online (or by phone, for that matter) is confidence in the professionalism and reputation of the dealer.DTVCity did not have the best price for this unit, nor did it carry the HDTV receiver that I wanted to purchase with it. Nevertheless, I decided to give my business to DTVCity because of its prominently posted replacement and return policy, its pains in displaying its BBB credentials, and testimonies (available onsite and elsewhere) from satisfied customers. I am to date very happy with my experience with DTVcITY and its representatives.

  I bought our NEC from DTVCity.com and have only good things to say about their service. Ultimately, it came down to the fact that their net price was the lowest I could find anywhere and their helpfulness was the best! Although here in Seattle we have several chains that sell some Plasma sets and one store that deals exclusively in them, nearly all of the background information that I needed to make an informed decision on plasma, HDTV, cabling, digital TV, etc. was from sources on the internet supported by DTVCity.com. I made several calls to them regarding yet unanswered questions and on extended warranty options and I was always treated professionally and courteously. This was much better than my experiences with local chain retailers who often tended to be condescending or ill-informed. This purchase was an extravagance to me and I certainly did not want to spend that much money without doing my homework. Without DTVCity.com's help, I probably would not have purchased a plasma set, thinking there were too many unknowns. I am glad I bought from them. I was especially impressed by the quick delivery (same as my local dealer had promised) and the excellent packaging that NEC uses---the shipping carton was well designed to prevent damage in shipment and the shipper DTVCity.com used was very careful and not a corner of the carton was damaged. Impressive and necessary for such an expensive item.
  
  Their internet materials were extremely helpful but I had to do a bit more digging to satisfy myself about plasma set reliability, special considerations which might affect one's need for an extended warranty, and ultimately getting information about the warranty coverage itself. It would be nice to have that extra detail on the internet links.

I went into the shopping experience having looked at a lot of displays first hand, and was biased to the Pioneer before even talking to them. When they listened to how we were going to use the display (movies & sports mainly, not as a computer monitor)they steered me to the Pioneer as well because of its unbelievable picture. Within 72 hours of ordering, I had the unit in my living room. Delivery took place during a snowstorm, but the delivery guy was very friendly and had obviously handled quite a few plasma tv deliveries. When I tell people I made the purchase on the web and saved over $3,000.00 compared to buying the same exact tv at an electronics store, they wonder why they didn't do this.

I’ll admit that I was a bit nervous purchasing such an expensive piece of electronic equipment over the Internet and having it shipped freight. I had purchased a TV before from another company and the TV arrived broken as the freight company had dropped it. The Plasma TV arrived very well packed and the “tip indicator” let me know immediately that it had not been tipped over. Besides the e-mails letting me know the status of the order, I also received a phone call from the company after my initial order. Overall, I was very please in how my order was handled.
