CONSIDERATIONS:
1. I thorght I was ordering from the big box retailer - BestBuy. This was not the case.
2. Price, they were $50 cheaper than other online stores.
BUYING EXPERIENCE:
I ordered a Pioneer 43" from BestBuyPlasma, originally I thought I was ordering from the big box retailer Best Buy but as I soon discovered this was not the case. FYI BestBuyPlasma.com uses the same looking logo as BestBuy.com but they are completely different companies. Best Buy's headquarters are in Richfield, MN. I could not find an address for BestBuyPlasma.com on their website although I believe they are located in the New York area.
I placed my order online just for the screen; I had already purchased my flat wall mount from a different vendor so all I needed was the plasma. I had all the necessary cables required to connect the plasma to my home theater system and satellite box so I did not need any accessories.
After about a week of not hearing anything apart from the standard automated order response I decided to call BestBuyPlasma.com to track my order, the problem started with their phone system, after waiting for 5 minutes to speak to a live person I was rudely transferred three to different people. I decided to hang up and try again, I finally got through to a sales manager who told me my order was on hold because they wanted to see if I needed any accessories. I asked why they had not bothered to call me but the manager could not give me a solid answer. I told him all I need was the Pioneer plasma TV with no accessories, he agreed to that only after trying to sell me an extended warranty that I also declined.
The sales manager stated the plasma would ship in the next few days, he could not give me an exact date. After making one additional follow-up call my plasma was finally shipped - two weeks after I placed the order. It arrived a few days later. The television was new and did not look like a reconditioned screen although the box was a little scuffed and dented. The delivery driver also refused to help me lift the plasma into my house, I believe it was a curbside deliver which was an inconvenience as my house has a long drive.
I would not recommend BestBuyPlasma.com to anybody considering a large online purchase, the small amount of money you save is not worth all the time and effort it would take to get your order processed and shipped.
