The Toshiba 42HP84 42-inch HDTV plasma television is primed for movie and sports fans, and makes a perfect centerpiece for both home theater and home computing. The set offers a widescreen, portrait-thin chassis, full high-definition quality, and picture improvements for interlaced video signals (such as those from VCRs, cable boxes, and non-progressive-scan DVD players). Topping a list of great Toshiba Plasma TV features is IDSC Digital 720P, which coverts all 480i and 480p signals from progressive-scan DVD players and DTV set-top boxes to 720p. Toshiba Plasma Technology
HD Dynamic Contrast feature continually analyzes picture information and enhances those parts of the picture with the most detailed information. This results in a sharper, deeper image with rich colors and a more film like image.
PixelPure is a suite of 8 different digital video processing circuits that combine to create a consistently clearer, deeper and more accurate picture. PixelPure is the key to Toshiba Plasma TV picture quality; it is the processing that makes the picture.
CableClear™ DNR+ utilizes the Digital 3DYC Comb Filter to compare frames and determine the existence and extent of video noise. It then applies the needed amount of digital video noise reduction, and the appropriate sharpness adjustment to keep the picture clear. This feature works on R/F and Video inputs and can be controlled by input.
High Definition MultiMedia Interface (HDMI) is the next generation of DVI. It includes the DVI digital video signal, and multi-channel digital audio signals on a single cable thus eliminating the need of a multiple cable hookup.
Terminals and Connections
ColorStream Component Video Inputs
ColorStream Component Video Inputs are the best analog connections for today's high-resolution digital sources, such as DVD players and Digital Set-Top Boxes. Three cables, Y (Luminance), Pr (Red - Y) and Pb (Blue - Y), deliver a cleaner, clearer signal , resulting in higher resolution and greater color purity for the ultimate in picture quality.HD Component Video Inputs
All Toshiba HDTV Compatible televisions include two sets of ColorStream HD Component Video Inputs. These inputs are capable on receiving 480i and 480p signals, as well as 1080i HDTV. Multiple high-resolution capable inputs provide an increased level of connectivity and future readiness for progressive DVD players and set-top boxes.Direct Access of Video Inputs
The television's inputs can be quickly selected without scrolling through all available inputs. With as many as seven inputs available, access speed to your desired source is increased.Individual A/V Settings for Inputs
All video signals are not created equally. This feature allows the viewer to save video adjustment for each type of input. This ensures optimum display of each type of source.
