Key Features of the Toshiba 42HP83P 42" Plasma Monitor

Toshiba 42HP83P Plasma TV

The 42HP83's amazing specs--including 1000:1 contrast ratio, 340 cd/m2 brightness, 0.89mm x 0.67mm pixel pitch, and 1,024 x 768 pixel resolution--put LCD monitors—and many competing plasma TVs—to shame. Dual ColorStream HD component-video inputs provide the ultimate picture quality from high-resolution component-video signals, while PC inputs include 15-pin RGB input, a DVI 1.0 input with high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP), and an RS-232 interface.

Cinema Mode (3:2 pulldown) circuitry identifies original film-based content from DVDs, then reassembles the frame sequence to more accurately reproduce the original 24-frame-per-second material. Four TheaterWide modes enable full-screen viewing of varying widescreen movie formats. Color temperature control provides three user-selectable color temperature settings for achieving the optimal white balance. This allows the customer to achieve the best picture quality in any viewing environment or personal picture preference. Digital Noise Reduction circuitry optimizes poor NTSC signals from antenna or cable.

Toshiba Plasma Technology

HD Dynamic Contrast - This feature continually analyzes picture information and enhances those parts of the picture with the most detail information which results in a sharper, deeper, more film-like image.

Cinema Mode (3:2 Pulldown Switch) - This circuitry identifies original film based content from DVDs, it then reassembles the frame sequence to more accurately reproduce the original 24 frame film-based material. This process eliminates artifacts and results in sharp, accurate full-frame progressive images.

Convenience Features

TheaterLink™ IR - Using the IR output and the IR dongle, the user can operate their video components by simply pointing the remote at the TV screen, even if the components are hidden away.

Direct Video Input Selection - Inputs can now be directly selected from the remote's numbered keypad without scrolling through all the inputs.

QuickConnect™ Guide acts as a set-up wizard helping the consumer in connecting the antenna or cable box and with performing initial channel scan and other basic set-up functions.

Audio System Features

Built-in Stereo Speakers with 20W Stereo Amplifier

SRS® WOW & Virtual Dolby® - Combines SRS 3D (creates a wide three-dimensional sound field), TruBass (boosts bass frequency perception for more dramatic low frequency effects), and Focus (raises the sound image vertically to create clearer voices) which enhances the Home Theater experience.

StableSound® maintains television volume within a preset range regardless of the source signal.
