Pioneer Plasma Technology

The secret behind Pioneer's extraordinary plasma displays is a two-stage system that ensures the highest quality images: Pioneer PURE Drive digital image processing, and the high-definition True XGA PURE plasma panel.

Digital Image Processing
Pioneer PURE Drive circuitry maintains a lossless digital signal path from input to output, minimizing noise and signal deterioration that results from inferior digital-to-analog conversions. Digital Noise Reduction and MPEG NR technology makes sure all you see is your input source, not additional noise and picture artifacts.

Rich, Natural Colors
The real magic of Pioneer's outstanding plasma monitors is ACE II (Advanced Continuous Emission), which processes the basic color elements of the input signal. ACE II processing eliminates false-contouring, a common problem with inferior plasma panels, by reproducing over 1 billion colors, giving the Pioneer PDP-614MX a smoothness and subtlety unmatched by any plasma display on the market, and improved contrast and definition in problematic dark scenes.

Improved Plasma Display Panel
Coupled with these advances in image processing, the new Pioneer PURE plasma panel in the 614MX offers better color balance and superior grayscale performance compared to previous models, thanks to an improved Deep Encase Cell Structure design. The PDP-614MX achieves a panel brightness of 1,000 cd/m2, brighter than any plasma display panel currently on the market, while delivering exceptional contrast and pure, lifelike color. Finally, an improved Pure Color Filter II panel glass reduces stray reflection and improves color consistency in the plasma display.

Convenience Features

New Multi-Picture Modes
In tune with the particular demands of professional users, Pioneer has added new Multi Picture Display modes, including side by side images, Picture-in-Picture, and Picture-out-Picture.

Enhanced Point Zoom
The Enhanced Point Zoom function lets you easily zoom any portion of a PC display by 1.5x, 2x, or 3x. A zoom sub-display makes it easy to adjust the zoom selection area.

2 x 2 Matrix Display
The 614MX makes it easy to connect up to four displays in a 2 x 2 matrix, with no additional expansion device needed. Two matrix modes are available: Normal Mode enlarges all picture elements, preserving the entire picture, and Adjusted Mode enlarges the image as a whole, so that the lines between units are filled in.

Easy Installation
Installation of the 614MX is now easier than ever, thanks to an improved, intuitive graphical user interface and an intelligent auto setup feature. A new remote control provides all of the key commands - including buttons for picture in picture modes and has been designed to be a robust and easy to use handset.

Lowest Power Consumption in the Industry
Despite a brighter plasma panel and improvements in contrast and color fidelity, the 614 MX achieves the lowest power consumption in the industrial sector. A built-in light sensor dynamically adjusts panel brightness to match ambient lighting conditions, reducing the overall energy use. Other options include Linear Brightness, which decreases peak image intensity, and an Energy Star-approved Power Save mode.

"Smart" Cooling System
In the PDP-614MX plasma display, internal fans are activated only when needed, minimizing fan noise and conserving power.

Burn-in Prevention
While decreased power consumption saves you money, a new range of screen management features expands the life cycle of the display. When displaying static images, such as PC input, an pixel orbiter subtly moves the screen image. Imperceptible to the eye, this feature ensures that your plasma monitor works around the clock, with no possibility of screen burn in or "overworking" any area of the display, dramatically increasing the working life of the plasma display.

RS-232C Control Port
In a professional installation environment, the standard RS-232C serial connection can ensure that an entire array of monitors can communicate with a central computer system, letting you monitor performance and diagnostic information, so you can solve potential problems before they happen.

Audio System Features

A built-in 9W x 2 stereo amplifier produces quality stereo audio with optional side-mounted speakers.
