Key Features of the JVC PD-42WV74 42" Plasma Monitor

JVC PD-42WV74 Plasma TV

The exciting PD-42WV74 is JVC's Very First 42" VGA Plasma television, delivering a stylish look and a wealth of high-tech features that will take your home theater into the future. It offers a 3000:1 Contrast Ratio, 480p Digital Image Scaling Technology for all video sources, a JVC exclusive 4 Point Color Management Circuitry, a NEW HD Range DSD (Digital Super Detail) High End Edge Correction Circuitry, Velocity Scan Modulation, and room-filling BBE High Definition Audio with advanced virtual surround and an integrated subwoofer with 36 Watts of total power.

JVC Plasma Technology

JVC’s exclusive four-point color management works by taking pinpoint samples of each of the four display colors--green, yellow, red, and blue--and compensating to achieve the right color balance. In addition, its selectable TheaterPro 6500 Kelvin color temperature setting is the NTSC standard, allowing programs to be seen as they were intended to be seen.

Another plus for film enthusiasts, the TV features 3:2 pulldown, which reassembles the frame sequence of your original film-based content from DVDs to more accurately reproduce the original 24-frame-per-second material. Digital edge-correction circuitry, video noise reduction, and on/off switchable velocity scan modulation all contribute to excellent-quality imagery.

Other Video Technology:

Convenience Features

Additional convenience features include aspect selection and zoom, an icon-based menu system, an interactive plug-in menu, and a multifunction timer. For checking two channels at once, the PD-42WV74 can show a split-screen image with zoom, as well as picture-on-picture with 12-channel multi-indexing. It has both a sleep timer and a 10-minute shutoff feature. The included electro-luminescence-based remote control has all buttons illuminated, and includes hyper-scan high-speed channel changing.

Audio System Features

The 36-watt BBE High Definition audio system with Advanced HyperSurround and Active Hyper Bass includes two direct-drive slim side speakers and a separate subwoofer for rich, expansive sound.

Terminals and Connections

The PD-42WV74 accepts two sets of high-resolution component-video inputs (Y/Pb/Pr or Y/Cb/Cr), DVI input with HDCP copy protection, 3 S-video inputs, 4 A/V (composite) inputs, and an RF input. A separate tuner box (included with the Plasma Monitor) houses the connections, and connects to the display with a single cable—no tangled cables to detract from the sleek plasma display!
