Plasma vision reaches further into the evolution of visual image technology to meet the digital information era with the Fujistu PDS4241 Plasma Screen TV. High definition and high brightness realized by the new ALIS method. PDS4241 Fujitsu Plasma Screen TV

Key features of the Fujitsu PDS4241 flat tv include:

High Resolution
Accepting the input from virtually any video source, the PDS-4241 is the perfect Convergent Visual Medium™ for numerous applications. It can display images in true 1080i and 720p HDTV as well as 480i and 480p SDTV signals, thanks to its improved 1024 x 1024 high-resolution pixel array. The PDS-4241 can also display the video output from a computer up to UXGA resolution, to display computer graphics with extraordinary clarity and color definition

Incredible High Brightness
The Fujitsu PDS-4241 Plasmavision Slimscreen monitor is truly the ultimate plasma display. It utilizes the latest generation of the company's proprietary ALiS (Alternate Lighting of Surfaces) technology, which discharges the electrodes in the plasma panel in a more efficient manner than conventional plasma monitors to achieve significantly higher brightness and definition, yielding extraordinary clarity, sharpness and color accuracy. Fujitsu's newly developed APLC (Advanced Peak Luminance Control) system provides improved contrast of 500:1 and brightness through advanced rib materials and phosphors for enhanced panel brightness to a remarkable 700 cd/m2 without affecting product life.

AVM (Advanced Video Movement) Digital Video Processor
The PDS-4241 incorporates a host of additional image-enhancing technologies for unsurpassed image quality. Built with Fujitsu's AVM advanced digital video signal processor, it virtually eliminates motion artifacts and flicker, improves vertical resolution and reproduces natural movement with ease. The processor's built-in line doubler converts NTSC signals and uses different types of processing for moving and still pictures, yielding smoother images with more natural movement and without visible scan lines. High definition Television (HDTV) and DVD signals are enhanced by the processor to achieve the optimum image for the plasma display.

ALIS Method (Alternate Lighting of Surfaces Method)
High definition and high brightness is realized by displaying 1024 scanning lines with same 512 lines of scanning electrodes as conventional system, by discharging alternately the spaces between the display electrodes and the scanning display electrodes not being used in the conventional system

Fujitsu PDS4221 Review by Rob Calabrese from IL on 3.28.01
Q:  Describe the picture of the plasma TV/LCD monitor in terms of clarity, color reproduction, contrast and brightness.

A:  All picture qualities are superior to any conventional monitor I have seen; the difference was noticable between the Fujitsu plasma monitor and my previous TV, a Proscan 32"

Q:  What are your general comments on your Plasma TVs/LCD Monitors? How do you like it?

A:  It's wonderful! It doesn't take up much space other than width and height, it's not very heavy, the controls and hookup are both very logical; setup was very easy; and it can produce a screen-filling picture from many different sources

Q:  How would you best describe the design and looks of the Plasma TV/LCD Monitor?

A:  Nice classic design, but with a appealing high tech look due to the thinness of the monitor compared to it's screen size

Q:  Plasma TV Inputs used? A:  S-Video

Q:  How long have you had the Plasma TV/LCD Monitor? A:  Less than 1 Month

Q:  What is the Plasma TV/LCD used for? A:  Home Living Room

Q:  Please explain how the Plasma TV/LCD Monitor was installed.

A:   It's placed on a Fujitsu desktop stand, and screwed to the top of a low custom cabinet that holds the center channel speaker for the surround system

Q:  Where did you purchase your Plasma TV/LCD Monitor? How was your buying experience?

A:   DTV City; the buying experience was very quick and pleasant; I appreciated being able to track the shipping using Roadway's website; Roadway did an impressive delivery job; the monitor was packed on a pallet and double-boxed, and arrived in perfect cosmetic and operating condition, right when they said it would.

I saved a lot of money, and the monitor arrived quicker than the time quoted by other dealers. Barring any service problems in the future, I would definately recommend buying a big-ticket item from DTVCity
