- I've got a Sony WEGA KE-32TS2U and I was wondering if what i would have to have to hook my PC to to it for short periods of gaming between 30 and 45 minutes of playing time. Is it possible to do so and what would I need to do it?
- Since I will use the Plasma to watch regular cable tv, not HD I want to know which plasma has the best scaler/doubler built in converting the 480i signal to 480p. Is it true that the new Sony PFM42V1 has the best scaler as you mention in the review, since I did not find anything about that otherplace.
- How do I fix burn-in on my 42" Sony plasma TV
- REad the review on the Sony 50XBR950. Does it have the HDMI connection? If not, how important is that?
- Does Sony KDE XBR950 61 inch plasma have its own video scaler? If not is it worth buying one. If yes which one and at what cost? Does this TV have built in technology to avoid burn in of static images? Does it have built in speakers? Which is better , Sony 61 inch( above mentioned) or Samsung HPN6339 63 inch? Very informative site which gave enormous information to a total novice that I am. Thanks. Please reply asap as I have to order in the next few days. Dilip Shinde
- Hi I was planning to buy Sony 50XBR950KIT from a online company. They selling very cheap for $7300 +250 shipping + No Tax. The link is http://store.yahoo.com/tvs-r-us/sonkde5plasw.html Do you trust these small company. They also sell thier own warranty, are these warranty legit? Thanks Ken Wong NYC
- Thank you for the great reviews. I have purchased a Sony PFM-42V1 and have a couple questions regarding connections. I would like to connect a Time Warner HD box and a non-progressive scan Sony DVD player to the plasma. The Pioneer HD box does have a DVI-D, but I believe it is looking for a HDCP compliant connection. Do you know if the Sony is compatible via DVI? If not what connections would you recommend for the equipment? Both the set top box and DVD player also have component and S-video connections. I look forward to your reponse. Thank you.
- I have a ke-32ts2 plasma that I connect to my HDTV Cable Box via a Monster DVI cable. It looks great, but when I change channels between 1080i and 480p the screen must have to adjust, while it adjusts the screen goes black with the frequency displayed (1080i or 480i/p??) then the channel is displayed as normal. It works, but it's not as smooth changing channels as with the component cable. Is this normal? Is there a setting I can modify to make changing channels smoother??
- need help. would you go for the panasonic TH 50PHD, or the sony kde50xbr?
- I am considering the purhcase of a Sony PFM-42V1B, i intend to use it for video (DVD/Sattellite) as well as Data (Presentations, Excel and even games). I am very concerned about Burn, is this a valid issue or does the plasma have anti burn technology built in? thanks in advance.

The KE-32TS2 does not have a PC input. You may be able to make the DVI input work for you if your PC has a DVI out. Otherwise, you will need a video card with a video output. You may also use a vga-component transcoder.

The Sony has one of the best built in scalers.

True burn in is not reversible.

The Sony does not have the HDMI connection, it has DVI, which is also digital but not as high in bandwidth. I would only be concerned if you have other components with HDMI. HDMI is backwards compatible with DVI, so it should not be a large concern.

I like the Sony a little more than the Samsung. The Sony does have a built in scaler and speakers that are removable. All of the new plasmas have some sort of anti-burn in technologies.

I do not trust any Yahoo! based store, nor one that offers their own warranty. I would recommend checking with the resellers listed on this site. They may not be the cheapest but they offer excellent service and are legitimate.

None of the specifications indicate that the DVI input is HDCP compliant. That means it will not work only if the signal being sent is being encoded. If you have a DVI cable, I would at least try that connection first and use it until the material is encoded with the copy protection. The VGA input can be used as a component input using a VGA-RCA breakout cable. If the DVI connection does not work, I would suggest that for either the HD box or DVD player, which you watch more. Then use the S-video for the other device.

That is just one of those things that happens when changing from a digital signal to an analog signal. Some units will do better than others. The plasma is trying to synchronize itself to the different signals.

- need help. would you go for the panasonic TH 50PHD, or the sony kde50xbr?
Both offer great performance but are catered to different customers. The 50PHD more of monitor and the XBR is the more typical plug and play TV. I would be happy with either.

This unit does employ various anti-burn in technologies. However, you may want to consider an HDTV with higher resolution for Excel since the resolution of this unit is 853x480 and small text could be difficult to read. I would not recommend slit screen with the PC and TV at the same time, as the PC text will truly be illegible.
