- Why does my plasma tv make noise? It gives off a high pitch or humming sound that is very distracting. Help please Thank You Hayes
- WHEN SETTING THE BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRACT, WHICH SHOULDN'T BE SET TOO HIGH WHEN CONSIDERING PLASMA LONGEVITY, ON A SAMSUNG WITH DNie, WILL THIS OPTIMIZE THESE SETTINGS FOR YOU? AND IF NOT, SHOULD IT LEFT ON OR TURNED ON ONLY AS NEEDED?
- Does any company have a anti-burn plasma TV on the market. I've seen the Samsung PPM-42s3 has such a thing? Is this true? Does any other company have this technology yet?? Thanks
- I've got a small issue here that's been bugging me a lot. I recently bought the samsung SPN4235 and I noticed that on the faces of people their faces have a "Wet" clayface look to them. I have tried adjusting settings, while some movies it isn't very noticeable in certain movies it's extremely noticeable. This issue is killing me and everyones telling me to go with a panny but I really don't have the money nor are there any places I can buy that around here as I don't order plasmas online. I would like to make use of my current plasma tv, any ideas how I can tweak this without voiding my warranty so I can get rid of the clayfaces? thanks.
- I am considering the purchase of a Panasonic TH42-PWD6UY for $2,300. My second choice is a Samsung HPN5039 (50") for $3,500. Besides the Panasonic being ED, how would these two models compare in your opinion? Price is a major consideration. Our seating is about 13' from the TV which puts us between a 42" and 50" screen ideally. I could not find many reviews on the Samsung. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Scott
- HPN5039, does it have any Audio outputs besides the optional speakers connections, i read the manual but did not see it mentioned. I wanted to buy one but if I can't connect it to my HT system I will look for another model. I hope such a safisticated product has one Audio output even if it is Analog.
- I recently bought a new samsung 42in plasma, I have noticed that when switched on and the screen is black or dark in color there appears to be horizontal segments on the screen with a lighter shade of black. These are not visible generally whilst watching the TV only when the screen is black or dark. Is this a fault that would require repairs as I have a 1 year warranty, or is this normal

That could possibly be the cooling fan or transformers. At higher altitudes, you may experience increased noise as the electronic have to work harder at the reduced atmospheric pressures.

I typically do not like any sort of image enhancers on digital TVs. Samsung has made a marked improvement with their version. I would not expect the life of the product to be shortened substantially when the use of this feature. I doubt the Samsung engineers would integrate this feature into their products if it would truncate the life expectancy.

Yes, all of the new plasmas have an orbital or wobbler to rotate the pixels slowly to prevent burn-in.

Does this occur on all inputs and from all sources? It could be a source issue. I would suggest calibrating the unit first with AVIA or Video Essentials DVD's. If that does not work, I would contact a licensed ISF technician to calibrate the unit.

I have never been very impressed with the Samsung plasmas. The picture is average; however, the fans often are very loud. If you plan on watching DVD and standard definition, I think you will be happier with the Panasonic.

Very few TV's have an audio out. Most video source will have an audio out, you will use that connection to a HT system.

That seems a bit unusual, you may want to contact Samsung if you are still under warranty.
