- I have a Samsung EDTV SP-P4251 and I am wondering if the tv channels will look any better by adding a decoder or HD Reciever. is that Possible?
- You said that side-by-side, you can deefinitely tell between HD and ED displaying HD signals. How about vice-versa, ie. a DVD being displayed on both models? Is it just as noticeable?
- If upscaling of 480i or 480p input to either 720p or 1080i by an HDTV introduces artifacts and lessens sharpness, why wasn't HDTV simply defined as 1704x960, or exactly double that of EDTV? Then 4 HD pixels could represent 1 ED pixel perfectly when displaying 480 input.

An HD decoder/receiver will not improve the picture quality of standard definition. You would need to add a line doubler or scaler. Please look at the DVDO iScanHD.

The difference is negligible on lower resolution signals. The difference between the ED and HDTV are more prevalent with the HD signal.

I can not answer that question. However, I would like to see more panels with resoltions of 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080. I believe a lot of the panel designs come from computer resolutions.
