- How does the Panasonic Th42pwd6uy compare in picture stretching quality of analog sources from satelite and non H.D. sources compared to some of the more expensive models from Pioneer an Sony
- I have a 42" Panasonic Plasma model number TH-42PWD5. I'm interested in knowing where to set all the picture set up levels. Such as picture, brightness, color, sharpness. I also need to know where to set the "advanced settings". Including the gamma level? I contacted a local tech store and they will do it for $250.. Is it worth it or can you help? I'm afraid to set the brightness and picture too high and damage the set.
- Would be interested to know when the Panasonic TH50 PX20 will be available and where to get one.
- i am interested in the th-42pa20u unit. is there an aspect ratio selection for watching regular tv (NBC, ABC, CBS) to fill the entire screen on this model? if not, should i be concerned about the black bars on the sides of the image being burned on to the tv?
- My Panasonic TH37PA20u/p 37 " plasma is only 4 months old and there is something wrong with the power on it. If I turn it on it makes a strong high pitch noise and then the power led blinks. The only way to turn off the led is to turn off the unit at the Monster power supply. What do you think my service issue is? Have you heard of problems with the Panasonic units?
- I have read on another website that the 42PWD6UY and 37PWD6UY can display the 720p HD format. Is this true or would 720p also be converted to 480p.
- I have a TH-42PWD5UY plasma screen. When I try to watch digital cable TV I get black bars on the sides and I am concerned about the screen burn or afterimage. How do I adjust the screen to Full? Or can I with this model?
- Does the TH42PWD6UY come with a stand that will allow me to sit it on a tabletop or cabinet top - or must I purchase a stand separately?
- My panasonic 42" EDTV plasma will display 1072 x 600 when connected to a computer (Geforce 2 Ultra card) which is higher than the 'native resolution'. Whats the deal? thanks in advance
- Iam trying to decide on the TH-42PHD6UY or the TH-42PX20UP. If I already have a NTSC tuner (cable box) and a surround system would I benefit from the 42px2oup? Also do either of these have the stretch feature for 4x3 to 16x9?

I have used the AVIA and Video Essentials DVDs for set up of Plasmas. A trained ISF technician can go beyond what is available on those DVDs. They will also use calibrated equipment to perform these calibrations. If you are seeking the absolute best picture, a professional calibration maybe what you need.

Yes, there is an aspect ratio button for stretching. i would always stretch a 4:3 image to prevent burn-in.

I had heard there was a batch of power supplies from August of 2003 that have caused some problems. I would contact Panasonic as you are within your warranty period.
